After the way things looked in November and December, you would have never thought to be reading about the Georgia Bulldogs men’s basketball team being on the verge of making the NCAA Tournament. But after edging the Ole Miss Rebels in the SEC Tournament quarterfinals, 75-73, on Friday night, that’s exactly where they are.
In December there were rumblings that head coach Mark Fox was on the hot seat, now…
GREENSBORO, N.C. – For a while it looked like Georgia Tech was going to actually have an easy first round win against the Boston College Eagles in the first round of the 2014 ACC Tournament. But the Eagles weren’t going quietly into that good night, and pushed the Jackets to overtime, before falling 73-70.
The game wasn’t a smooth ride for either team though. It had everything from clock issues on the court, questionable calls and no-calls (ok…beyond questionable, how about ridiculous)
Yes, the NCAA Bubble Watch is officially in high gear.
Who’s in…who’s out…who’s sitting on the bubble? Those are the questions that circulate wildly every early March. Sometimes a team can move from the outside looking in, to one of the teams on their way to the Big Dance by how well they play in February and March.
For the Georgia Bulldogs, their end of regular season run and 3rd place finish in the SEC may look good on paper (or flat screen) but will it be enough to make send them to the 2014 NCAA Tournament?
Finally, the outcome equaled the effort, as the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (14-16, 5-12 ACC) got the big payoff with an upset of the No.7 Syracuse Orange 26-4, 13-4 ACC) 67-62 in the Carrier Dome.
This is the game that Georgia Tech needed to be their confidence booster. This is the game that Brian Gregory could use to look his team in the eyes and say…
The Georgia Mens’ basketball team resumed its drive for a top four finish in the SEC with a 73-56 win over South Carolina on Saturday afternoon at the Colonial Life Arena.
It was a typical Georgia win as the Bulldogs outrebounded South Carolina 40-38 and shot more free throws than South Carolina, going 19 of 29 while…
There are things a coach has the ability to fix, and things that fall completely out of the realm of their control…injuries falling under the latter. But Georgia Tech hired Brian Gregory to coach their basketball program back into the ACC elite, and despite positive strides in his first two seasons, the 2013-14 campaign has been a huge backward step.
The Yellow Jackets are in serious jeopardy of not only their third straight losing conference record under Gregory, but…
It’s become a popular point of debate, over the past year or so, to list the four names from a sport or team that would comprise the Mount Rushmore monument for that group. With LeBron James naming his Rushmore of the NBA (Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson and Oscar Robertson), it has become even more fashionable.
Not being a group to ignore such mad fashion, the staff here at YellowJackedUp.com has decided to chip in with our version of who we believe the Mount Rushmore of Georgia Tech would include.
Although the college basketball season is still in full swing, with March Madness about to descend upon us, the time for recruiting never ends, especially for Georgia Tech, who will have a number of needs to fill in 2014-15. One of the ESPN100 recruits who remains uncommitted has Georgia Tech on his short list, and that’s 7-foot-2 center, Anas Osama Mahmoud.
Mahmoud, out of West Oaks Academy in Orlando, Fl., is one of the more well-known recruits in the nation who has still yet to decide on a school for next year.
