It’s time to talk about the 800-pound gorilla sitting around the Atlanta Braves clubhouse. Why are so many Braves pitchers suffering injuries that cause a need for Tommy John surgery? – in some cases, even multiple surgeries.

Just to clarify, for those who don’t know, Tommy John surgery is an elbow ligament graft procedure which was pioneered in 1974 by orthopedic surgeon Dr. Frank Jobe. It has since become a fairly common procedure, especially for baseball pitchers. But in the case of the Braves, it’s almost become too common.

2014 ACC Baseball Top 10 Power Rankings, Predictions

The 2014 college baseball season has begun, and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are off to a slow start in the early going, starting with a 1-3 record to open the season. The Jackets have dropped three straight after an opening day 6-5 win over Old Dominion.

There are still a few non-conference games to be played before the meat of the schedule hits Danny Ford’s team, so there is a little time to get things rolling in the right direction.

Who Belongs on the Georgia Tech Mount Rushmore?

It’s become a popular point of debate, over the past year or so, to list the four names from a sport or team that would comprise the Mount Rushmore monument for that group. With LeBron James naming his Rushmore of the NBA (Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson and Oscar Robertson), it has become even more fashionable.
